Bed bug control services

Our bed bug control services use Aprehend, a natural, ready‑to‑apply biopesticide designed specifically for eliminating bed bugs. This treatment relies on a proprietary oil formulation infused with spores of the Beauveria bassiana fungus — a pathogen that is deadly to bed bugs yet completely safe for humans and pets.
When bed bugs come into contact with the treated surfaces, the spores infect and kill them, and the infected bugs can spread the fungus to others in their colony.
Results That Last—Without the Hassle
- Excellent proven results.
- Provides up to three months of protection.
- 100% safe for humans and pets.
- Eliminates nymphs and adults within two weeks of contact.
- No chemicals, no odours.
- Ideal for single-family homes, multi-family housing, senior living facilities, shelters, campgrounds, hotels and more.
How does Aprehend eliminate bed bugs?

- Aprehend®, a non-toxic biopesticide is sprayed strategically around bed frames, box springs, and furniture where bed bugs are likely to walk, creating a barrier of Beauveria bassiana fungal spores.
- Bed bugs become carriers transferring Aprehend® to other bedbugs they contact.
- The fungal spores germinate within 20 hours of contact and then penetrate the cuticle of the bed bug and colonize inside, creating toxins and depleting the bed bug of nutrients until it dies.
- Bed bugs of all life stages, sex, or feeding status are killed within four to ten days following short-term contact with a treated surface.
Why we don't recommend heat or chemical treatments any longer
While heat and chemical treatments have been widely used in the past, each method comes with its own limitations that can affect overall effectiveness and convenience for homeowners. Before choosing an approach, it’s important to understand the drawbacks associated with both options.

Heat treatments
- High cost — heat treatments are one of the most expensive options.
- No residual protection — once the heat is gone, there’s nothing preventing reintroduction.
- Risk of damage — heat can warp furniture, electronics, flooring, and personal items.
- Uneven heating — cool spots inside walls, furniture joints, or clutter can let bugs and eggs survive.
- Heavy preparation — residents often need to remove items, declutter, unplug electronics, etc.

Chemical Treatments
- Widespread resistance — many bed bug populations are resistant to common insecticides (especially pyrethroids), reducing effectiveness.
- Multiple visits required — chemicals rarely eliminate an infestation in a single treatment; often 2–4 follow-ups are needed.
- No guarantee on eggs — most liquid insecticides don’t kill eggs, so newly hatched nymphs may survive until the next visit.
- Strong preparation demands — residents often need to bag items, move furniture, and declutter, making treatments inconvenient.
- Potential odour or staining — some products may leave smells or marks, depending on the formulation and surfaces.
- Limited reach — chemicals may not penetrate deep hiding spots inside furniture, wall voids, and tight cracks.
